  • THURSDAY, MAY 19, 7:30 pm, "Songs and Singers In The Making" Aspiring singers from Long Beach High School perform in a master class workshop with musical director TEDD FIRTH and ROB LESTER, Cabaret Critic

  • FRIDAY, MAY 20, 8 pm "Marilyn In Fragments"  2014 MAC Award winner MARISSA MULDER withJON WEBER at the piano

  • SATURDAY, MAY 21, 2 pm- "Cabaret Conversations: Inside the American Songbook " Established artists demonstrate and comment on the cabaret genre as they honor the songs and the songwriters. SusanJames hosts the discussion with Rob Lester as artists Kristoffer Lowe, Marissa Mulder, Stacy Sullivan, and Jon Weber perform original songs and classics of the genre.
  • SATURDAY, MAY 21, 7 pm - "Joplin to Jarrett"  JON WEBER traces the development of jazz.

Rob Lester  

ROB LESTER has been a cabaret journalist for ten years. He writes reviews and articles on NYC cabaret live performances and CDs for Cabaret Scenes Magazine (on the web as cabaretscenes.org), NiteLifeExchange.com, and TalkinBroadway.com and has been a voter helping to choose the recipients of the city's cabaret awards.  Additionally, he's worked with teens as a theatre director/instructor for schools, arts organizations, and theatre companies, and now runs the inter-generational Play Nice! whose all-volunteer actors present his original musicals with positive themes, donating all ticket income to charities.  He has been part of AIP's cabaret weekends for several years and has loved the Great American Songbook since he was a kid being raised on Long Island with music-loving parents.
