Vision
As a totally volunteer organization funded primarily by membership dollars, AIP is soliciting grant and foundation monies to strengthen the organization. AIP’s long range goal is to obtain a venue to provide arts to the residents of our community and beyond. AIP is currently providing quality entertainment and youth programming as well as working on collaborating with other arts groups and city government to form a unique arts alliance, a local Advisory Board on the Arts. AIP strives to provide a nurturing environment for artists to flourish individually as well as to encourage cross-cultural and inter-generational endeavors.
History
AIP began as a dream. In July, 2000, the people of Long Beach were invited to a meeting at the Public Library to voice their suggestions on developing a vision for the arts in our community. Over 65 participants listed various projects and a grass roots organization developed to begin to implement these ideas and revitalize the local arts scene. Artists In Partnership incorporated in October, 2000 and became an official 501 ©(3) organization in the summer of 2003. In 2004, AIP received a $2,000 grant, and in 2005, an $1,800 and a $1,300 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program through the Long Island Arts Council.
Every year since then, AIP has been the recipient of numerous grants:
